The Republic of Somalia recognizes Kosovo as an independent state

The Kosovo Foreign Ministry announced today that Somalia has recognized the Republic of Kosovo as and independent and sovereign state.

Somalia is the 69th country to recognize Kosovo’s independence.

In a diplomatic note addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Somalia confirms the decision of the government of this country to recognize Kosovo as an independent and sovereign.

 

Diplomatic note further stated that the decision was taken based on the official request for recognition signed by the President of Republic of Kosovo, Fatmir Sejdiu.
