FORCE BASE, Missouri (CNN) -- Pentagon officials said Thursday there
were indications that a pair of B-2 stealth bombers were flying over
Yugoslavia on the second day of NATO's Operation Allied Force.
Two of the batlike warplanes were said to have performed very effectively
Wednesday -- dropping 32 tons of precision-guided munitions on targets
throughout Yugoslavia -- on the B-2's first-ever combat mission.
Those history-making planes and their pilots have returned to their
home base.
